<p class="title">Seven students of city-based Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) were selected for the Karnataka Regional Mathematics Olympiad (KRMO-2018). As many as 41 students were selected from the state.</p>.<p class="bodytext">CFAL programme coordinator Severene Rosario told reporters at Patrika Bhavan on Thursday that the students selected for the Olympiad were: Samarth M Bhat, Yermal Koustubh Rao, Anmol J Shetty, Adithya Thomas, Sathwik Acharya, Dhruhan Rajiv Shah and Rakshitha.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Aditya Thomas, of class 10 is the second topper among the 30 selected in Karnataka (in the 8th to 11th standard category). Yermal Koustubh Rao and Anmol J Shetty were the only two PUC students of Learning Centre PU College. Samarth M Bhat came second out of the only six selected in the 12th standard category in Karnataka, Severene added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">All selected students qualify for INMO (Indian National Mathematical Olympiad). The winners of the national event will become eligible to take part in International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).</p>.<p class="bodytext">The first stage of the exam (Pre-RMO; also known as PRMO) was held on August 19, 2018, at different centres in India. A total of 360 students from Karnataka were selected for the second stage KRMO (Karnataka Regional Mathematics Olympiad). </p>.<p class="bodytext">To select the Indian team for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), 30 students selected for INMO will attend a training camp in Mumbai. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Of these, a team of five or six students will represent India at the International Mathematical Olympiads (IMO)-2019 to be held in Bath, the United Kingdom in July 2019. CFAL programme coordinator Vijay Moras and faculty Dr Srikanth Pai were present at the press meet.</p>
