<p>Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade said the rural habitats in the country should be empowered to stop the urban migration.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking after receiving the lifetime achievement award on the occasion of valedictory of 75th anniversary celebrations of Academy of General Education on Saturday, Heggade said that the visionary T M A Pai shared a similar foresight.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said Pai was always concerned about the empowerment of the rural establishments which would enable the growth of the country. Pai felt that the rural development is very essential for the progress of the country and education and finance play a major role.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Heggade added that education is the only way to make people enlightened. It makes people understand their rights.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Pai had dreamt of the future of India in 1940 itself before the independence, said Heggade.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He lauded Pai’s farsightedness to improve the rural areas which led to financial stability in the most villages in the region. Every family and individual should be self-reliant, he added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Similarly, financial stability is also essential for the overall development of the life of any individual, country or society. An empowered India is only possible when rural India is strengthened, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Asserting that Dharma is the important component and is the absolute constitution, Heggade said that Dharma should not be misused for greediness.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He shared his experiences with Pai on the occasion.</p>
