<p>Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said the issue of reservations in promotions to SC/ST employees would be discussed in the next Cabinet meeting on Thursday.</p>.<p>Despite enacting a fresh law to implement consequential seniority, the government has been unable to enforce it as the matter is pending before the Supreme Court. Speaking to reporters after a meeting chaired by Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said, “the matter will be heard in the SC on August 14. But we can’t wait till then. Hence, we will appeal to the court to allow the government to implement the new Act. We will ensure that the government does not let down the SC/ST employees.”</p>
