<p>High Court judge justice Aravind Kumar on Saturday said that the Karnataka State Legal Service Authority recommended Rs 4,500 monthly pension and five acre land to devadasis for their rehabilitation. </p>.<p>He was referring to a proposal seeking enhancement of monthly pension to devadasi at a legal awareness programme for devadasis. Devadasis had submitted a memorandum seeking to increase their monthly allowance to<br />Rs 3,000.</p>.<p>“There is a need to frame a legislation to use the term ‘aggrieved woman’ instead of devadasi. Private firms should donate funds under corporate social responsibility for the eradication of the devadasi practice,” he said.</p>
