<p class="title">Kodava Shuttle Badminton Tournament will be held at the indoor stadium of Kodava Samaja, Napoklu, from April 9 to 11, said Napoklu Kodava Samaja Sports, Cultural and Recreation Club president Biddatanda S Thammaiah.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing reporters at Kodava Samaja Club, he said that the tournament planned last year was cancelled due to the Covid-19 induced lockdown.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The indoor stadium where the tournament will be held has been built at a cost of Rs 40 lakh, with the motto of providing opportunities to rural sports talents. Sportspersons from other districts and states are expected to take part as well, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The tournament’s technical director Pemmadiyanda Venu Appanna said that there are seven categories in the tournament: Three for children, three for men and one for women.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Around 150 teams are expected to take part in the tournament and Rs 3 lakh will be spent on the tournament, he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Teams should enrol their names before April 4.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Club secretary Nayakanda Deepu Changappa and director Boppera Jaya Uttappa were present.</p>
