Four residents were injured when a huge tree fell on two houses at Goutamapura village in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district on Wednesday, due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Landslides were reported in various parts of Sagara taluk disrupting vehicular movement. Sagar, Thirtahalli, Hosanagar taluks continued to receive heavy rains. Vehicular movement on Koppa road in Thirthahalli town was affected as a huge tree was uprooted at Kuruvalli. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Heavy rain lashed Subrahmanya region on Wednesday evening. A huge boulder fell on the wall of a government PU College at Hariharapallathadka on Tuesday night. A retaining wall collapsed at Madappady. Mangaluru received rain in the evening. In the last 24 hours, Dakshina Kannada district received an average of 19.4 mm rainfall. A large number of tourists are visiting the dam as also the backwaters. Tree falls affected vehicular traffic at many places in Siddapur taluk of Uttara Kannada district.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The inflow to the Tungabhadra reservoir in Hosapete taluk of Ballari district increased from 1,127 cusecs on Tuesday morning to 6,878 cusecs by evening. The water storage in the dam was recorded at 5.31 tmc ft on Wednesday, up from 4.74 tmc ft on Tuesday. The outflow was 200 cusecs.</p>.<p class="bodytext">An officer of the Tungabhadra reservoir management board told <span class="italic">DH</span> that the water level in Tunga dam had reached the maximum. The outflow from the reservoir is reaching the Tungabhadra dam. The heavy inflow to the dam is also due to the good rains in the catchment area of the Tungabhadra dam.</p>
