<p class="bodytext">Mangaluru East Police on Tuesday registered a case against M N Rajendra Kumar Abhinandana Samithi, which had organised ‘Rajatha Sambhrama’ programme to commemorate the silver jubilee of Rajendra Kumar as the president of SCDCC Bank, for disruption of traffic on the city’s arterial roads on January 19.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to DCP (Crime) Uma Prashanth, a large number of people had participated in the programme. The vehicles that ferried people to the programme venue had not adhered to the guidelines on parking the vehicles. The procession, taken out from SCDCC Bank to Nehru Maidan, had disrupted the movement of vehicles. The disruption in traffic had affected the movement of emergency vehicles. School, college-going students and others were left stranded on the streets.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Based on a complaint by Assistant Police Commissioner (Traffic), the police had filed a case under IPC Section 341, 188, 283 and 290.</p>.<p class="CrossHead">Gold seized</p>.<p class="bodytext">Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized foreign origin gold 24KT weighing 149.800 gm gold worth Rs 4.85 lakh from a passenger who arrived from Dubai.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to the officials, the gold was concealed in burkha material in check in the luggage of the passenger who arrived Dubai by Spice Jet flight.</p>
