<p class="title">RTI Activist T J Abraham on Saturday declared to carry out a campaign appealing voters not to cast their votes in favour of Pramod Madhwaraj, who is contesting from Udupi-Chikmagalur Constituency on Congress-JD(S) ticket.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“The former minister is the most corrupt,” Abraham alleged.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He told mediapersons, after attending the summons issued by the District and Sessions Court, that a bank in Malpe had offered a loan of Rs 193 crore against the mortgaged liability worth Rs 1.10 cr to the former minister. The mutation register record clearly states that the area of land mortgaged for Rs 193 crore in 2010-11 did not exceed 18 cents.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He alleged that value of land was calculated at an inflated price, which was not commanded by the the land even on M G Road in Bengaluru. One square feet of land is estimated over Rs 19,000, he added. A complaint was submitted to the Central Finance Directorate on March 14, 2018. Pramod had threatened to file a Rs 10-crore defamation case against Abraham.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He challenged former minister to file a defamation case, for which the latter has to pay Rs 7,07,125 as court fee along with other processing fees. He will be compelled to submit all required documents and the truth will come out. Sadly, people like Pramod are ruining the country’s economy, Abraham said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said if Pramod can manipulate the court to defame him, why shouldn’t he use the election to defame Parmod in a genuine case? He chided the former minister for not filing a defamation case.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Abraham said Pramod had filed a criminal case instead of defamation case. “I am visiting Udupi eight to 10 times in order to appear in the court. Pramod has not attended the court even once,” he said. </p>.<p class="bodytext">“I am ready to face any repercussion for carrying negative campaign against Madhwaraj,” Abraham said.</p>
