They disrupted a blood donation camp going on in the varsity auditorium.</p>.<p class="bodytext"><strong><span class="bold">Go on rampage</span></strong></p>.<p class="bodytext">The Congress workers allegedly went on rampage and ransacked chairs and damaged varsity property. The shattered flower vases. Some students were allegedly injured and blood stains were visible on the floor.</p>.<p class="bodytext"><strong><span class="bold">VC manhandled</span></strong></p>.<p class="bodytext">The intruding Congress workers, supporters of MLA Satish Jarkiholi, allegedly manhandled vice chancellor Shivanand Hosmani by dragging and shoving him around.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sources said that Siddau Sunagar, a zilla panchayat member representing Kakti constituency, and a staunch follower of senior Congress leader MLA Satish Jarkiholi, barged into the university with his supporters.</p>.<p class="bodytext"><strong><span class="bold">Angry for not being invited</span></strong></p>.<p class="bodytext">It is learnt that Sunagar took exception to varsity officials not inviting elected representatives for their programmes. Sunagar was expecting an invitation from the varsity for the voluntary blood donation camp organised by NSS unit. He demanded that MLA Satish Jarkiholi be invited to programmes held by the university. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to DH, Siddau Sunagar admitted that he and his supporters went the university to demand invites. But he denied that the vice-chancellor was manhandled. </p>.<p class="bodytext">"There was a heated argument between me and him. MLA Satish Jarkiholi was not invited for many earlier programmes also. The university had invited MP Suresh Angadi and neglected the MLA representing the constituency," he remarked. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Vice Chancellor S B Hosmani was unavailable for comment.</p>
