<p>BJP MLA Ranbir Gangwa was on Tuesday unanimously elected as the deputy speaker of the Haryana Assembly.</p>.<p>The Nalwa legislator's name was proposed by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and seconded by Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala.</p>.<p>Speaker Gian Chand Gupta told the House that as only one name had been proposed, Gangwa was declared elected unanimously.</p>.<p>Khattar, Dushyant and Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda congratulated Gangwa after he was elected as deputy speaker.</p>.<p>Hooda said he thought the deputy speaker's post would go to the opposition, "but did not oppose Gangwa's name as he is a good person."</p>.<p>Pointing towards Hooda, Home Minister Anil Vij asked why the opposition did not propose any name from their side when the speaker was seeking names.</p>.<p>"You should not speak all the time and let the chief minister speak too," Hooda told Vij.</p>.<p>Later, Khattar thanked the opposition for unanimously electing the Nalwa legislator as Deputy Speaker.</p>.<p>Gangwa said he feels proud that the House has entrusted him with the responsibility and assured the members of impartial conduct.</p>.<p>Gangwa also thanked the House for unanimously electing him. He also thanked the voters of his Nalwa constituency for electing him as MLA.</p>.<p>Gangwa, a former leader of INLD and ex-Rajya Sabha MP, had joined the BJP in March, shortly before the Lok Sabha election.</p>
