Redmi K20 launch next week: Specs, price and more

After weeks of teasing, Xiaomi is all set to pull the wraps off the Redmi K20 on May 28. It is proclaiming the new phone to be the flagship killer 2.0, directly taking a shot at the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro.

The company is leaving no stone unturned to get the fans excited for the Redmi K20 and has already shown the gradient shell design and also hinted the device will have the all-display form factor and most importantly a powerful processor to offer a buttery smooth experience.

Xiaomi Redmi K20: What we know so far

Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi K20, as proclaimed by the company, is a premium marquee phone. The new phone looks visually appealing with a glossy gradient finish in the recently released teaser. It also reveals the device would come with a triple camera module on the back.

On the front, it is said to boast 6.39-inch full HD+ AMOLED all-display screen without any notch in the front panel. The front camera is understood to be incorporated in the top-edge with the retractable motor.

Under-the-hood, the company has already confirmed that the Redmi K20 will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor and a 4,000mAh battery, which will be more than enough to keep the phone running for more than a day under mixed usage.

The company is also bringing Game Turbi 2.0 feature to offer immersive and lag-free gaming experience to the K20 owners. And also, it will come with DC Dimming feature for a display to lessen the strain on the eyes for long exposure to the smartphone display. Guess what 3.5mm audio jack will find its place in the K20, which is sure exciting music enthusiasts.
It will be backed by Android Pie-based MIUI 10 OS and most probably come with 6GB RAM+ 128GB storage and 8GB RAM+ 256GB storage options.

As far as the photography hardware is concerned, Xiaomi Redmi K20 is expected to house a triple camera module- 48MP primary sensor (Sony IMX586) + 13MP Ultra wide sens + 8MP telephoto lens. On the front, it is said to come with 20MP pop-up front camera. It is also said to support face unlock in addition to in-screen fingerprint sensor in the display.

Given the fact that Xiaomi openly challenging OnePlus 7 with Redmi K20 in recent past, fans can expect the new phone to cost the same or if not less. In India, Xiaomi, based on Poco F1 pricing, may keep the price of K20 series anywhere between Rs 22,000 and Rs 30,000.
