India's Angad Vir Singh Bajwa finished 18th while his senior compatriot Mairaj Ahmad Khan ended 25th in the men's skeet event of the TokyoOlympicshere on Monday.

The 25-year-old Angad shot 120 across five series and Mairaj could manage only 117 at the Asaka Range.

His sequence of scores read 24 25 24 23 24.

On the other hand, Mairaj was could not improve on his overnight position and ended the competition with scores of 25 24 22 23 23 for a total of 117.

Three athletes among 16 new Covid-19 cases at Tokyo Olympics

The Covid-19 infections associated with the Tokyo Olympics rose to 148 after organisers reported 16 new cases on Monday, including three athletes.

The organisers, in their daily Covid-19 update, announced that three athletes, four contractors, eight Games-concerned personnel and one Games employee have been found to be Covid positive.

All three athletes are not residents of the Olympic Village, which has reported 16 cases since it was opened.

Australia's Titmus upsets Ledeky to win Olympic 400m freestyle gold

Ariarne Titmus upset Katie Ledecky to claim theOlympic400m freestyle gold medal Monday in the second-fastest time ever swum, with the American great having to settle for second.

The Australian inched clear over the final 50m to touch in 3min 56.69sec. Only world record holder Ledecky has ever gone quicker.

Ledecky hit the wall for silver in 3:57.36, with China's Li Bingjie third in 4:01.08.

Dutch rowing team agrees to isolation measures after positive Covid-19 tests

The Dutch rowing team has agreed to separate itself from other competitors after one of its athletes, a coach and a staff member all tested positive for Covid-19, the team's performance director told Reuters on Monday.

TeamNL rowing coach Josy Verdonkschot tested positive for the coronavirus and went into a 10-day quarantine, the NetherlandsOlympicCommittee (NOCNSF) said on Sunday, after 21-year-old single sculls competitor Finn Florijn also turned up a positive test on Friday.

A staff member on the Dutch rowing team came back with a positive test last week as well.
