5.5 magnitude earthquake hits China's southern Xinjiang

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake which had a depth of 24 km, struck southern Xinjiang in China today.

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck southern Xinjiang in China on Sunday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.

The quake was at a depth of 24 km (14.91 miles), EMSC said.
