China vows 'firm and forceful measures' after Tsai-McCarthy meet

China vowed on Thursday to take "firm and forceful measures" after Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen held talks with US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in California.

"China will take firm and forceful measures to firmly safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity," foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a regular briefing.
