The budget session of parliament will takes place from January 29 to Feb 9 while the Union Budget will be presented on February 1, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said on Friday.

The first phase of the session will be from January 29 to February 9. After a recess, Parliament will meet again from March 5 to April 6, Kumar told reporters.

President Ram Nath Kovind will address a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on January 29. The Economic Survey will also be tabled on the same day.

The Budget Session will have 31 sittings and besides presenting the budget, the priority of the government will be to get Parliament nod on the pending triple talaq bill and the Constitution Amendment Bill to grant statutory status to the National Backward Classes Commission.
