Troubles seem far from over for yoga guru Baba Ramdev as a local court in Jodhpur has directed the city police to lodge an FIR for his “honeymoon” with Dalit remarks targeted at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

The court of Metropolitan Magistrate has directed Shastri Nagar police station in Jodhpur to lodge an FIR and initiate a probe.

The orders were issued on Saturday while hearing a complaint filed by Vijay Rao, who demanded an FIR and appropriate action against Baba Ramdev for his comments.

The court has asked the police to register the case against Ramdev under Sections 171(C) of IPC and 3 (1) (X) of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Section 171(C) deals with the offence of using undue influence in the elections while the latter deals with insulting remarks related to caste and community.

A similar FIR was registered in Jyoti Nagar police station, Jaipur on Friday. The FIR was registered on the direction of court. The plea against Ramdev was moved by Ghanshyam Brajvasi. Earlier, two FIRs each were lodged in Gandhi Nagar Police station and Jyoti Nagar Police station respectively.

A memorandum has also been submitted to Jaipur collector addressed to  President of India demanding action against Ramdev. The memorandum was submitted by ST/SC cell of state Congress.
