It is not clear if the Pashupatinath temple in Nepal has suffered damage after a massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit the country, with an initial report saying there was slight damage to the temple.
Bhagat S. Koshyari, BJP leader from Uttarakhand, tweeted: "Had words with Nepal government official and RSS Nepal. We are in touch. Slight damage in Pashupatinath temple."
However, there was another report by journalist Nalini Singh saying the sacred Hindu temple had not suffered any damage.
"Renowned Shri Pashupatinath temple complex in Kathmandu has suffered no damage, is safe, according to reports," she tweeted.
Singh's NEPAL 1's office is situated near Kathmandu airport.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited the temple during his Nepal visit.
