A youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances outside a pulse mill in Narela area of outer Delhi on Saturday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Chaman Lal, who hails from Jharkhand and worked with the mill in Y Block of Narela.
Some of the workers of the mill claim that two groups were involved in a heated argument on Friday evening. It is suspected that after the altercation, he might have been thrown off the third floor but the workers did not witness the incident.
“We received a call at around 8 am on Saturday morning reporting that a man was lying in a pool of blood,” a senior police officer said.
“He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” he added.
Police sceptical
Initial investigation suggests that Chaman was sleeping inside the mill. However, the police have refused to confirm whether he committed suicide, was killed or fell off the building
accidentally.
The official said they are waiting for the forensic investigation to culminate. “The exact cause of the death will be clear only after post-mortem is conducted,” he added.
The police are currently investigating the incident under section 176 of the Code
of Criminal Procedure (CrPc).
They have also informed Chaman’s relatives in Jharkhand. "The body will be handed over to his family after post-mortem," the official added.
