Nokia 2.2 Android One: Battery

For reasons unknown, the company has incorporated 3,000mAh battery in the Nokia 2.2, 1000mAh less capacity than the predecessor. This is a bit led down. If you binge watch videos on the internet with mobile data on, the battery will get exhausted within a few hours.

Having said that, the new phone, which runs on pure Android will be able to run for a whole day under mixed usage, which includes internet browsing, audio calls, play games ( non-graphics intense), other normal day-to-day chores.

Nokia 2.2 Android One: Camera

Nokia 2.2 sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper. I spent a brief time with the new Android One phone and I was able to check the picture quality of the camera in controlled light conditions. It was decent, but I will reserve the judgment until I check out how the images will churn out in different lighting settings.

The company has also claimed that it has incorporated Artificial Intelligence (AI)-algorithm in the camera app and says that the device will be able to capture good pictures in the evenings and the night, or any low light conditions.

Also, Nokia 2.2 is one of the most affordable phones to boasts face unlock.

Back camera: 13MP with Autofocus, F2.2 aperture,1/3-inch lens, F2.2 aperture, LED flash, HDR (High Dynamic Range), panorama, support Google Lens, and time-lapse.

Front: 5MP with fixed focus, beautify apps, support face unlock

Nokia 2.2 Android One: Processor, RAM, storage and OS

Nokia 2.2 Android One comes with MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core processor backed by 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage. The configuration is decent to perform any day-to-day activities like internet browsing, view social media platforms, play around with the camera, among others.

It runs pure Android Pie out-of-the-box and one of the perks of being an Android One series, is that it will be one of the first phones to get Android Q and if there is no issue of hardware limitation, it will get Android R in 2020. Also, it is assured to getmonthly Google security patch for three years.

Nokia 2.1 Android One: Design, display and build quality

Nokia 2.2 flaunts a candy-bar exterior outlook. Though the screen footprint is bigger than its predecessor, the phone is compact enough to operate with a single hand. With thin bezels, it offers good viewing experience when watching videos.

It comes with a removable shell on the back and the company has used polycarbonate-based material. One positive aspect of this design strategy is the consumer can replace battery over time, without having to go to the store. Be advised always go for the company's original battery or authorised cells to replace the old battery.

On the top, there are dedicated slots for two SIMs and a microSD card.

Despite the smooth texture on the shell, I had no issues gripping the device. But, have to say, it is a fingerprint magnet.
On the left, it comes with a dedicated Google Assistant button. On the opposite side, it has a power button and the volume rockers placed one above the other.

At the top, Nokia 2.2 features a 3.5mm audio jack and at the bottom, it has a micro USB Type 2 port.

Nokia 2.2 Android One sports a 5.71-inch HD+ display with 400 nits brightness and 19:9 aspect ratio.
