PM Modi said that keeping up with trends is important for development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed multiple initiatives and schemes implemented under his governance, such as tax structure reforms, FDI investments, one nation one grid schemes and Skill India.

He also mentioned the relationship between Suadi and India, dating back to ancient times, which helped keep up the International ties now.

PM pointed out that the UN should act as an instrument for positive change.

"Today, India has succeeded in eradicating poverty at a fast pace in the world. My way to fight against poverty is to empower the poor. The poor want dignity and when I give the toilet, I do not give an arrangement. I give dignity," says PM

Today development-oriented polity determines strength: PM

"Earlier expansionist tendencies determined strength. Today development-oriented polity, the quest for innovation is determining what strength is," says PM.

UN shouldn’t merely be an institution: PM

"We have to think whether the UN has risen to the occasion when it comes to conflict resolution. I had raised this issue when the UN turned 70 but much discussion couldn’t happen. I hope this topic is discussed more actively when the UN turns 75.A body like the UN shouldn’t merely be an institution but also an instrument for positive change," he said

We will have to take a step towards strengthening this multi-polar world: Modi

"The importance of the smallest of countries is increasing today. We will have to take a step towards strengthening this multi-polar world and think what contribution are we making for the welfare of mankind," PM Modi.

All countries in today are interdependent, interconnected: PM

"Today world has changed, it is multi-polar today. All countries in today are interdependent, interconnected. The manner in which the world was viewed 3-4 decades back has changed. We will have to change our thinking," PM Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Be it Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code or a taxation system by country, we have made difficult decisions. Today India is comparable with tax structure and IPR business regimes."

"Comparing India's tax structure with the best tax structure in the world today, abolished over 1500 old laws, 350 million people were added to the bank. DBT Saves $ 20 Billion, Launches Ayushman Bharat, World's Largest Healthcare Program," PM Modi said in his keynote speech.

"There have been many reforms in the last five years, FDI investment of $ 286 billion in India," sais PM Modi at the reform.

We are integrating India's infrastructure: PM

"One Nation One Power Grid, We are integrating India's infrastructure with such efforts as One Nation, One gas grid, and One Water grid, One Nation One Mobility Card, One Nation One Optical Fiber Network," he said.

Infrastructure is an opportunity multiplier: PM

"Infrastructure is an opportunity multiplier. Infrastructure gives businesses huge investment opportunities. So for the growth of business and other infrastructure is necessary," he said.

"By 2024, we aim to invest US$ 100 Billion in refining, pipelines, gas terminals. I am happy that Saudi Aramco has decided to invest in West Coast Refinery Project - which will be the largest refinery of Asia," he said.

"Under Skill India initiative, in the coming 3-4 years, 400 million people will be trained under different skills. This will provide assured skilled manpower to companies investing in India," said PM Modi.

He said, "Today India has become world's 3rd largest start-up ecosystem. Even in tier-2&3 cities of India startups have come up. Our start-ups have started investing at global scale. I invite global investors to benefit from our start-up ecosystem."

To speed up development, need to understand emerging trends: PM

"India has set a target of doubling its economy to $ 5 trillion in the next five years. Today in India, if we want to speed up development, then we have to understand the emerging trends," PM Modi said.

"Today, India has become the third largest startups ecosystem in the world. Many of our startups are investing globally," says PM Modi.

PM says, "Our relations with Saudi Arabia is several years old. Our ancient relations has built a strong foundation for our strategic partnership."

Forum aims to look for ways aimed at global welfare: PM

"The aim of this forum is not only to discuss the economic system here but also to understand the rising trends of the world and look for ways aimed at global welfare," the PM said at the forum.

Business deals worth $15 bn signed at key Saudi summit

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday announced that 23 investment agreements totalling more than USD 15 billion in value were signed on the first day of a three-day high-profile financial summit, being attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other world leaders.

The deals were signed on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative, dubbed "Davos in the desert", which is an initiative of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who plans to diversify the Kingdom's economy while reducing its economic dependence on petroleum products under his ambitious vision 2030 plan.

India, Saudi moving towards closer strategic ties: PM

India and Saudi Arabia are moving from a purely buyer-seller relationship towards a closer strategic partnership that will include the resource-rich Kingdom's investments in downstream oil and gas projects in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said.
