Wishing Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao to become next Prime Minister of India, Brahmana Seva Sangam performed  Rajasuya Yajna in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The Rajasuya is a yajna or sacrifice performed by the ancient kings of India who considered themselves powerful enough to be an emperor.

"The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao doesn't know that we are doing Rajasuya Yajna. But we know that he is the only person capable of leading the country at the time of crisis," president of Brahmana Seva Sangam, Sudhakar Sharma said. Sharma along with his wife and members of the association performed the Yajna at the Kanakadurga Temple here at Basheerbaghj.

The ritual which is not an exact match of the Yajna performed by the kings of yore was completed in three hours of time, with the Poornahuthi. Sharma also gave a call to members of the Sangham to perform similar rituals in every district to please God. Expressing special affection for KCR, Sharma said that KCR after becoming CM has implemented salary system for all the temple priests in Telangana ending years of neglect.

It was in December 2015 that KCR performed five-day Ayutha Chandi Homam at his farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad spending Rs 7 crore. KCR who has a penchant for rituals has taken a vow in 2011 that he will perform  Chandi Homam after Telangana attains statehood. "I was impressed by similar yajna performed by Bharathiteertha Swamy in Sringeri Peetham," KCR had said.

The Telangana CM has recently declared that he will float an alternative front to the two national parties to uphold true federalism. He found support from many national level leaders.
