Ultra luxury car maker Rolls Royce today launched its 'Wraith' model with a price starting at Rs 4.6 crore in India, as part of its expansion plans in the country.

The company, which currently sells Phantom and Ghost models in the country, is also looking to expand its dealerships here.

"We believe there is immense potential in India market. In 2005 we started with one dealership. To cater to different regions, we will be opening two more dealerships this year, taking the total number to five," Rolls Royce, General Manager Emerging Markets Asia, Herfried Hasenoehrl, told reporters here.

The two new dealerships would come up at Chandigarh and Ahmedabad, he added.
The company, which sold 3,575 cars globally last year, has dealerships currently at Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

When asked about the company's growth plans in India, Hasenoehrl said that in order to reach out to more customers, Rolls Royce might open two more dealerships in the country next year.

"India is still a strong market for us, the biggest in emerging markets. We are optimistic about the growth prospects of this region and Wraith will contribute to it very very nicely," Hasenoehrl said.

In order to promote the new model, the company also plans to take the car to various cities in the country.

"During this three month tour, the new product would be taken to different locations across the country and shown to people," Haseanoehrl said.
