Lucknow, DHNS: Uttar Pradesh continues to shiver as mercury plummeted to three degrees even as the death toll in cold-related incidents so far crossed 100.
According to the weather office, large parts of the state remained in the grip of severe cold wave and the minimum temperature hovered between three to seven degrees at most places.
As many as 40 people, mostly aged and homeless, died in different parts of the state from cold-related incidents in the past 24-hours, according to the reports.
A majority of long-distance trains were running 10–12 hours behind schedule owing to foggy conditions while many trains were cancelled.
The Met office has predicted that there will be not any significant change in the weather in next few days.
