Airtel unveils new logo, tune

The tune was composed by Oscar winner A R Rehman.

The re-designed logo would be for Indian as well as overseas market to bring operational synergy across the company’s business ventures, Chairman & Managing Director Sunil Bharti Mittal said.

The brand launch in India will be followed by Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Mittal said the company will commercially launch 3G, services by end of next month. “Today as we expand on the global stage, this new brand identity gives us the opportunity to present single powerful and unified face to our customers, stakeholders and partners around the world,” he added. On 2G spectrum scam, Mittal said: “We will subject ourselves to whatever policy decision the government makes... We will comply 100 percent.” Airtel also  claimed that its subscriber base has crossed 200 million mark. The company said of the total subscribers base nearly 150 million users in the domestic market, 40 million users in Africa, while the rest are in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
