"Currently our market share in the two wheeler segment is around six percent and our target is 10 percent this year," Roy Kurian, company's zonal business head (south), told reporters here late Thursday after launching the bike.

The entry level bike segment (100cc-110 cc) account for nearly 70 percent of the total bike market in the country and India Yamaha caters to this segment with Alba, G5, Crux and YBR 100 models.

According to Kurian, the company's YBR 110 will target the city commuter who is looking  for a family vehicle that is trendy but not flashy.

It has an electric start engine, sharp graphics, ergonomic seat design, excellent handling and is priced at around Rs.41,000, he said.

For India Yamaha, the southern states are a major market contributing around 40 percent of its total sales.

The company is also giving a make over to its FZ16 and FZ-S models with new colour schemes and graphics to promote them under common brand statement Stylish Macho.
In the 2009 fiscal, India Yamaha sold 85,000 units of FZ16 and FZ-S, contributing 40 percent of total sales volume.

India Yamaha currently has various models  including VMAX 1,679cc, MT01 1,670 cc, YZF-R1 998cc, Fazer 153 cc, FZ-S 153cc, YZF-R15 150cc, Gladiator 125cc, G5 106cc, Alba 106cc and Crux 106cc.
