Available in both five-seater and seven-seater options, the vehicle is priced (ex-showroom Bangalore) at Rs 2,69,263, Rs 2,99,263 and Rs 2,85,259 for the Eeco Standard five-seater, Eeco A/C five-seater and Eeco Standard seven-seater respectively. Equipped with the new 1200cc engine, the vehicle can deliver 73 bhp of raw power at 6000 rpm and a torque of 101 Nm at 3000 rpm, the company claimed.Besides, the car also complies with the safety norms prevailing in India; comes with a turning radius of 4.5 metres with a specially designed suspension system.
Hike in prices
However, the prices quoted by the company are only introductory prices and going by the firm’s statements made in Kolkata recently they are set to increase soon.
Further, the firm said that the Maruti 800 will not be available in major metors like Bangalore, Chennai et al from April 2010, as the company aims to focus on the rural market to one of its best-known brands.
