Maruti Suzuki sales drop 6.7% in FY21 at over 14 lakh unitsSales in FY21 saw a drop due to Covid-related factors, the company said in a statement

India's largest seller of passenger cars Maruti Suzuki India Limited has registered a 6.7% decline in sales for fiscal 2020-21 at 14,57,861 units. During the previous year, the company had sold 15,63,297 units.

In the financial year that ended on March 2021, the total sales include domestic sales of 13,23,396 units, sales to other OEMs are 38,326 units and 96,139 units were exported.

"MSIL domestic sales in FY19-20 had fallen by 18% due to reasons that are well known and in FY20-21 have been impacted due to COVID related factors. Domestic Sales in March 2020 had dropped about 48% due to COVID related disruptions. It will be seen that domestic sales in March 2021 have only recovered to March 2019 levels," the company said in a statement.

During the month of March 2021, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,67,014 units consisting of domestic sales of 1,49,518 units, 5,899 units to other OEMs and 11,597 units of exports, the company said.
