British police claim they have "intelligence" that he is only seven years old and are desperate to catch the mystery youngster, 'The Sun' reported.

"We have found stolen cars where the seat is as far forward as it can go and where a cushion is used to make the driver closer to the wheel. The suggestion is that there is a child as young as seven involved," Detective Inspector Paul Miller was quoted as saying.

He added: "We can have them as young as 11 and 12 in this city. They are being trained by older villains and do a sort of apprenticeship. They start by driving around in a stolen car and then learn how to steal a car themselves.

"The scary thing is that they don't know how to drive. It will only be a matter of time before they seriously injure or kill themselves or innocent members of the public."
