Volkswagen July sales at 2,597 units

On a month-on-month basis, the car-maker's Jetta achieved a 36 per cent growth and the Passat 67 per cent in July as compared to the year-ago period. The Volkswagen Iconic New Beetle continued its growth with customer deliveries reaching at 301 units for the period of January-July 2010 and the Touareg at 69 units for the same period, the company said in a statement.

Volkswagen's entry into the hatchback segment with the New Polo has received an astounding response nation-wide. Sales for the New Polo commenced in March 2010 and have so far delivered 6,618 units, it said.

The car-maker will launch Vento officially in the last quarter of this calender year, the statement said.
