The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has announced the admissions to the tenth batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management.

The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) is an ideal study opportunity for professionals interested in getting engaged in policy making and public system management. The PGPPM is meant for candidates from both government and other than government sectors.

Commenting on the programme, Professor G Ramesh, Chairperson, PGPPM says “When the programme was launched a decade ago,   it was exclusively meant for mid-career officers from the civil services. In recent years, it has been opened to candidates from outside the government as also to overseas applicants, and we are witnessing a strong interest from these candidates.”

The  PGPPM aims at strengthening the public policy and managerial skills of future leaders and senior managers from the civil services; and professionals from social, infrastructure and private sectors.The programme is designed for professionals from NGO’s, International Agencies, PSUs, Infrastructural and Social Sectors, CSR, Consulting and other service sectors.

The programme targets professionals who have a minimum of five years of experience. The programme is well received among civil servants and gaining in popularity among the non-government participants.

The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) was flagged off in 2001 from the Centre for Public Policy (CPP), which was established by IIMB with initial support from the Department of Personnel and Training, GOI, and UNDP.

The main aim of CPP is to develop as an alternate think tank through excellence in research and scholarship, and education and training. The PGPPM was started to fulfill the niche for an educational programme in public policy in India for officers from various civil services like IAS, IPS, IFS and other services.
