In Meghalaya election 2018, NPP candidate James Pangsang Kongkal Sangma won the Dadenggre Assembly seat after securing 7239 votes. The NPP candidate defeated IND candidate Rupa M. Marak by a margin of 2785 votes.
In 2018, Dadenggre constituency had 30162 electors, including 15370 males and 14792 females.
The BJP, which decided to contest the 2023 elections alone, secured only 9.6 per cent votes in 2018.
