Byregowda told reporters in Kittur town on Tuesday that results of the assembly elections in the two states have shown that BJP had been using emotional issues to get votes, as he predicted a downfall of the BJP.

Regarding talks of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's replacement, he said, there were no such talks at the high command level. AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and AICC Organising Secretary K C Venugopal have made it clear that they stand with the chief minister.

"If any individual in their capacity were making attempts to become chief minister, there was nothing wrong in it," he said.

"I have been elected as an MLA for the sixth term and have been minister for three terms. I was the only person who has completed full tenure of five year as an agriculture minister. As revenue minister, I have been finding time short to complete the works. Officials too were complaining that their workload has increased since I assumed office," he stated.

He said, funds worth Rs 58 crore will be spent for the restoration of Kittur fort and works have been launched.
