BJP releases its final list for Bihar polls; four ministers renominated
The BJP on Wednesday issued its fourth list of 35 candidates for the Bihar assembly polls, repeating four state ministers and majority of the sitting MLAs.
With this the party has named all its nominees for the 110 seats that it is contesting in the three-phase elections starting from October 28.
All the candidates are for the third phase scheduled for November 7, the party said in a statement in the national capital. The names of six women figure on the fourth list.
A significant omission in the list is R S Pandey, former union petroleum secretary and sitting BJP MLA from Bagha seat. The party has given ticket to Ram Singh in place of Pandey this time from Bagha assembly constituency in West Champaran district.
Two time BJP MLA from Raxual Ajay Kumar Singh also did not find place in the list.

Don't fall in anybody's 'publicity trap', vote after comparing work of successive govts: Nitish to voters
Beginning his election tours with a public meeting at Banka, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Wednesday alerted people not to fall in anybody's "publicity trap" else while their income would multiply but that of the common man would slide as was the case before the present dispensation came on the scene.
He cautioned people that any error in making a right decision while casting vote would pave way for return of condition that prevailed 15 years before the NDA assumed reins of the state in 2005 end.
After launching campaign for Bihar polls on Monday with a virtual rally and addressing two more digital rallies Tuesday, Kumar started addressing election meetings physically with a public meeting at Balua maidan in Banka district during the day.
From there he flew to Bhagalpur to address a second rally at Sultanganj and after that another one at Munger and the last in Mokama in the outskirts of Patna.
On return to the state capital, he addressed a virtual rally from the party headquarters in a bid to reach out to maximum number of people during the election.

Tejashwi files nomination from Raghopur assembly seat
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday filed nomination papers from Raghopur seat which he represented in the assembly last time.
Accompanied by elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav and senior party leader Bhola Rai, Tejashwi submitted his nomination papers to the Sub Divisional Officer-cum election officer for the Raghopur seat at Vaishali collectriat here.
Tejashwi, who has been chosen by the anti-NDA grouping as its chief ministerial candidate, is seeking re- election from Raghopur seat he won on his maiden outing in electoral politics in 2015.
He will face rival Satish Kumar of the BJP, who had emerged as giant killer after defeating his mother Rabri Devi from the same seat in the 2010 polls.
Satish Kumar had lost to Tejashwi last time. But, at that time BJP was fighting alone and Tejashwi was a nominee of the grand alliance which then comprised of RJD, JD(U) and the Congress.
Located on the bank of river Ganga across capital Patna, Raghopur is a yadav dominated constituency which Lalu Prasad represented in the assembly twice since 1995 and Rabri Devi from 2005-10.

Ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, Loktantrik Janata Dal chief Sharad Yadav's daughter Subhashini Yadav joined the Congress on Wednesday in the presence of local leaders.
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader and former MP Kali Pandey also joined the Congress.

Oppn shall set their own agendas instead of merely reacting to NDA's agendas:Kanhaiya
Taking a swipe at the ruling NDA in Bihar, CPI leader and former JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar on Wednesday said unfortunately the agendas which were relevant to the state 15 years back continue to dominate the present polls.
He lamented that in the ongoing polls in Bihar, the ruling coalition is setting the agendas and the opposition is only reacting to it instead of coming out with their own issues.
CPI is part of the RJD-led Grand Alliance in the Bihar elections. The left party is contesting on six seats in all three phases of the election as partner of the anti-NDA grouping.
Though Kumar, who unsuccessfully contested 2019 General Election from his native Begusarai Lok Sabha seat, is not fighting the state elections, but he has been named among the star campaigners of his party for the polls.
Former JNUSU general secretary, Sandeep Saurav, has been fielded by CPI-ML, also a member of the grand alliance, from the Paliganj assembly seat in the outskirts of Patna.
Its yet not confirmed whether Kanhaiya Kumar as leader of the opposition grouping would seek vote for him at Paliganj. Making a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar government, the prominent youth leader said "even after ruling the state for 15 years he failed to solve the problems in the fields of education, health and other core sectors...Bihar still stands on the same position as it did 15 years ago in terms of development."
