New Delhi: Over 2 lakh government jobs, financial aid of ₹2100 to women, MSP for farmers and jobs for Agniveers are some of the key promises that the Bharatiya Janata Party has made in its manifesto to woo voters in the upcoming Haryana assembly polls.
The party has also promised scholarships for OBC and SC students hailing from the state to study in any government medical or engineering college across the country.
While releasing the party’s manifesto at Rohtak, president JP Nadda said that the manifesto is considered an important document within the BJP. “The manifesto is a serious responsibility for us; the BJP only puts promises in the manifesto that it can fulfill. We have only released manifestos where we do what we say,” Nadda said.
He also asserted that the state has transformed under BJP’s decade-long leadership. “In 2014, the state's per capita income was Rs 1.37 lakh, which has increased to Rs 3 lakh. Haryana export, which was only Rs 68,000 crore, has now gone up to Rs 2.5 lakh crore,” Nadda said.
For women, the party has promised Rs 2,100 to women each month under the “Lado Lakshmi” scheme, similar versions of which have been implemented in various BJP-ruled states. Apart from that the party had vowed to sell gas cylinders for Rs 500 under the Har Ghar Grihini scheme, as well as provide a scooter to every college-going female student in villages under the Avval Balika scheme.
The party has also vowed to purchase 24 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), adding 10 more crops to the 14 that it already purchases at MSP. The BJP has also promised to give government jobs to Agniveer, and build over five lakh houses. Free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh, establishment of up to 10 industrial cities, and the establishment of an international-level Aravalli Jungle Safari in South Haryana are among the other promises.
