Lucknow: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said that prime minister Narendra Modi was seeking votes for Amit Shah, who would be the prime minister once Modi attained the age of 75 as he (Modi) would have to retire in accordance with the rules of the saffron party.

Speaking to reporters here with Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav here, Kejriwal also reiterated his claim that Modi would remove Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath from his post if he (Modi) was able to form the next government at the centre.

The Delhi CM said that Modi was trying to remove all obstacles in the way of Amit Shah so that the latter could become the prime minister after his retirement. ''All other BJP leaders had been sidelined except Yogi Adityanath....he would be removed within months if BJP forms the next government,'' he claimed.

''Modi has not said that he will not resign after turning 75......similarly no BJP leader has commented on his claim that Adityanath will be removed by Modi...it means he (Adityanath) is going,'' Kejriwal said.

Akhilesh said that the BJP would not be able to form the next government. ''BJP will not be able to win more than 140 seats....BJP will taste the biggest defeat in Punjab, Delhi and UP,'' he said.

Kejriwal however did not reply when queried about the allegation that his secretary Vibhav Kumar had assaulted Delhi Women Commission chairperson Swati Maliwal in Delhi CM's office a few days back.

While Kejriwal handed over the mike to Akhilesh when queried about the incident, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh referred to JD (S) MP Prajjwal Ramanna, who was accused of raping scores of women, former WFI chief Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, who was accused of assaulting some female wrestlers, and disrobing of a woman in Manipur to corner Modi and BJP leaders.

''BJP and Modi should speak on these issues first before asking others,'' Singh said.

Incidentally Vibhav Kumar, who accompanied Kejriwal, kept sitting in the vehicle and did not come out. The vehicle was surrounded by AAP workers who did not allow the mediapersons to speak to Kumar.
