'No PM in the past has uttered such hateful, unparliamentary terms to target either a specific section of society or the opposition,' Singh lamented in his appeal. Despite the ongoing acrimony between his BJD and the BJP, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik refrained from ruling out eventual support for the NDA. Addressing a press conference, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge lashed out at PM Modi, saying, 'The PM referred to himself in third person over 700 times in the last 15 days while staying mum on unemployment and inflation'. Kharge further quoted Ambedkar to remark, 'Bhakti in politics is a sure shot road to eventual dictatorship'. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh too lashed out at the PM, saying his Kanyakumari meditation plan scheduled for later today 'violates the MCC,' and that Modi 'will anyways have to embark on permanent meditation post June 04'.
