Polling under way in Chamarajanagar.

Mahadeshwara Hills (Chamarajanagar dist): As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, repolling started at 7 am at Indiganatha village, in Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar district, on Monday.
The voting was stopped here on April 26, following a clash and a group of villagers damaging EVMs and furniture.
Police security has been beefed up in the village. The residents of Indiganatha and Mendare comes under the polling booth limits. In all, there are 528 voters, including 279 men and 249 women.
The polling started at 7 am and so far, 54 people from Mendare village and one from Indiganatha have cast their vote.
The villagers had earlier warned of boycotting the polls demanding infrastructure in the villages. However, the officials convinced the tribals, and around nine people had cast their vote on April 26, after which a group of villagers pelted stones on the polling booth. A few villagers too were injured in the melee.
