The I.N.D.I.A. bloc was predicted to get 109 to 201 seats in various polls with Congress winning a dozen more seats than its 2019 tally of 53.

New Delhi: Exit Polls on Saturday predicted a return of the Narendra Modi government to power for the third consecutive term with a bigger mandate while the Opposition I.N.D.I.A. failed to improve its performance.

Almost all polls gave the BJP-led NDA more than 350 seats with a few predicting it crossing the two-third mark and over 370.

One of the polls – News24-Today’s Chanakya (400 +/-15) – even predicted that the NDA could touch a maximum of 415 while its minimum could be 385. I.N.D.I.A. was predicted to win 107 (+/-11) while others could win 36 (+/-9). The prediction for BJP was 320-350 seats while that of Congress was 39-61.

Another poll – India TV-CNX – too predicted the NDA touching a maximum of 401 while the minimum could be 371. I.N.D.I.A was predicted to win 109-139 by CNX. BJP alone is predicted to win 319-338 seats while Congress may settle at 52-64.

At the same time, the I.N.D.I.A. bloc was predicted to get 109 to 201 seats in various polls with Congress winning a dozen more seats than its 2019 tally of 53.

India Today-MyAxis India poll gave NDA 361-401 seats while I.N.D.I.A. 131-166 and others 8-20.

ABP-C-Voter poll claimed BJP may win 353-383 seats, while I.N.D.I.A. could win 152-182 seats while others may have to settle between 4-12 seats. Times Now-ETG said NDA could win 358 while I.N.D.I.A. tally could be 152 and others 33.

Almost all polls claimed the BJP-led NDA was winning the maximum seats in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha besides north Indian states while some claimed that BJP will improve its standing in the south. These polls predicted a rout for YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh and BJD in Odisha.

The Congress and I.N.D.I.A. bloc were quick to dismiss the exit poll results as “government surveys by Modi media”. Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh said the man “whose exit is certain” on June 4 has had these exit polls orchestrated.

“The I.N.D.I.A. ‘Janbandhan’ will definitely get a minimum of 295 seats, which is a clear and decisive majority. The outgoing Prime Minister can remain smug for three days in the meanwhile. These are all psychological games he is masterminding but the ACTUAL results will be very different,” he posted on ‘X’.

According to Dainik Bhaskar polls, which gave the widest range, NDA is slated to win 281-350 seats while I.N.D.I.A. could win 145-201 seats. India News-D Dynamics claimed 371 seats for NDA, 125 for I.N.D.I.A. and 47 for others.

Jan Ki Baat polls said BJP may win 362-392 seats while it gave 141-161 for I.N.D.I.A. and 10-20 seats. Republic TV-PMarq said NDA could win 359 while I.N.D.I.A. could settle at 154 and rest 30 while Republic Bharat-Matrize showed 353-368 for NDA and 118-133 for I.N.D.I.A.

A ‘poll of polls’ by NDTV claimed 362 for NDA with BJP at 311, 148 for I.N.D.I.A. with Congress at 63 and others at 33. A ‘Mega Exit Poll’ by News18 claimed 355-370 for NDA with BJP getting 305-315 and I.N.D.I.A. getting 109-139 with Congress grabbing 62-72.
