Konathala Ramkrishna of Congress won with the lowest margin from Anakapalli in Andhra Pradesh in the 1989 elections. Som Marandi of BJP also won with the same margin from Rajmahal in Bihar in 1998 polls. In the 2019 polls, the lowest margin was BJP's Bholanath from UP's Machhlishahr where he won with just 181 votes.
