Kannada filmstar Shivarajkumar's wife Geetha joins Congress

She is the daughter-in-law of Kannada thespian late Dr Rajkumar and daughter of former Chief Minister late S Bangarappa.

JD(S) leader Geetha Shivarajkumar, the daughter of former chief minister S Bangarappa, formally joined Congress on Friday.

Geetha was inducted in the presence of Karnataka Congress president D K Shivakumar, AICC spokesperson Gourav Vallabh and the party’s cultural wing head Sadhu Kokila, an actor himself.

“I’m happy to be doing this. Congress is a historic party, one that made my father the chief minister,” Geetha said. She added that she would campaign for Shivakumar in the Kanakapura segment.

Geetha is expected to campaign for her brother Madhu Bangarappa, the Congress’ Sorab candidate against their brother Kumar Bangarappa of the BJP.

Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar is expected to join his wife Geetha during the Congress’ campaign for Madhu Bangarappa.
