Mysuru city police have clarified on how the mobile phone fell on the bonnet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign vehicle, during the roadshow here, on Sunday evening.

Speaking to DH, Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth said upon verification, they traced that it was the mobile phone of Ravi Urs, a yoga teacher and president of BJP ward number 45 in Mysuru.

The mobile phone fell on PM’s vehicle near Dufferin clock tower on Sayyaji Rao Road during the roadshow. As per Ravi’s statement, he was capturing the video of PM, when a person next to him threw the flower petals with force, and his arm hit Ravi’s hand holding the phone, which landed on the vehicle’s bonnet. It was not intentional.

Devaraja police have inquired him. No case has been registered. They have taken his statement and the report has been submitted to state police chief and also, to SPG, Ramesh said. SPG sleuths had returned that mobile phone to Ravi the same day.
