Hiriyur (Chitradurga district): A class 8 student allegedly died by suicide in a hostel room in the Navodaya Vidyalaya at Uduvalli in the taluk on Monday.
The deceased was Prem Sagar (13), son of Ramesh of Kengunte village in Holalkere taluk. Ramesh is a teacher at Kalkere village.
Sagar's parents have lodged a complaint at the rural police station alleging that Sagar ended his life due to ragging by senior students.
The police are investigating the case.
