Mumbai: The group of progressive parties supporting the Maha Vikas Aghadi (I.N.D.I.A.) has sent a three-point message to the opposition bloc’s leadership to adopt an inclusive approach while discussing seat-sharing with smaller allies to ensure the defeat of BJP-led Maha Yuti (NDA) in the Maharashtra polls.

The message was sent across on Wednesday evening after the conclusion of the Pune convention.

The meeting was held hours after the Election Commission of India declared the schedule for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections.

More than 2,000 delegates from across the state attended the day-long Pune convention.

The three-point message is: the primary aim is to ensure the resounding defeat of the BJP-led Maha Yuti-NDA state government at all costs, and, to ensure this, the MVA-I.N.D.I.A. bloc must clearly declare and implement pro-people alternative policies in all spheres, besides, adopting an inclusive approach in seat-sharing with the progressive parties and give them their just share.

CPI (M) Polit Bureau member and All India Lisa Sabha President Dr Ashok Dhawale made the concluding speech.

Dr Uday Narkar introduced and conducted the proceedings.

The convention was addressed by Narasayya Adam, ex-MLA, and Vinod Nikole, sitting CPI (M) MLA, Jayant Patil, ex-MLC of Peasants and Workers Party, Subhash Lande of CPI, Anis Ahmed of SP, Ajit Patil of CPI-ML, Kishor Dhamale of Satyashodhak Communist Party, Shyam Gaikwad of Progressive Republican Party and Medha Thatte of Lal Nishan Party.

Ajit Abhyankar welcomed the participants and moved the condolence resolution paying homage to Sitaram Yechury and Buddhadeb Bhattacharya of CPI (M), Atul Kumar Anjan (CPI), and Meenakshi Patil (PWP).

The convention began with revolutionary songs by the Praja Natya Mandal from Solapur.

The convention was presided over by Mariam Dhawale of CPI (M), Ram Baheti of CPI, Raju Korde of PWP, Vithal Satav of SP and R T Gavit of SCP.
