Mumbai: In what is being seen as a show of strength to persuade BJP to allow Eknath Shinde to continue as the Chief Minister by repeating the Bihar pattern in Maharashtra, prayers were held across the state to invoke blessings of god so that the 60-year-old common man’s leader continue in the top job.
“Leading the alliance to a resounding majority, Shinde served as the face of the Maha Yuti during the elections. Since assuming office as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister two years ago, he has garnered widespread recognition for his relentless dedication to the state’s progress. Among his notable contributions is the Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, a transformative initiative empowering women with economic independence and self-reliance,” the Shiv Sena said in a press statement on Monday.
Citizens from all walks of life—including students in Pune, women in Thane, and patients who benefited from government aid—came together to seek blessings for Shinde to remain as the CM.
Devotees in Nashik performed special pujas at local Shiva temples, while sadhus in Pandharpur in Solapur district conducted a Havan at the Vitthal Temple, invoking divine blessings for Shinde’s continued service.
Hundreds of beneficiaries of the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana gathered at Shinde’s residence for a maha aarti, expressing their gratitude and hope for his return as CM.
Students in Pune, who are preparing for competitive exams performed aartis for continuance of Shinde as CM.
People who received support through the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund visited Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, collectively offering prayers for his leadership.
“Shinde’s visionary leadership has brought positive change to countless lives. Leading the Mahayuti to a decisive victory is a testament to his commitment to Maharashtra’s welfare,” Shiv Sena spokesperson Rahul Londhe said.
