Rajasthan Assembly Polls Highlights: Police says no hindrance to voting amid stone pelting in Sikar, 68.24% voter turnout till 5pmStone pelting has been reported from the Fatehpur Shekhawati area in Sikar Assembly seat in Rajasthan and heavy police has been deployed to control the situation. The police, however have assured that the incident has had no effect on voting and security will be provided to anyone who comes out to cast their vote. There was also some ruckus reported outside a polling booth in Soorsagar Assembly over voting time. The state has seen 68.24% voter turnout till 5pm for the 199 Assembly seats, preliminary information from the ECI has said. It will only be determined on December 3 if Ashok Gehlot-led Congress will retain power, or will the BJP crush their dreams. Meanwhile the BJP leaders have expressed confidence that the saffron aprty will emerge victorious in the state amid allegations of corruption under the Congress rule. On stone pelting in Sikar, Fathepur DSP Ramprasad says, "There has been stone pelting among some people after a verbal clash. Some people have been disbursed, and some people have been detained. We will take strict action. The polling is underway but this place (of clashes) is away from the polling booth. There is no hindrance to voting... Those who have not cast their vote yet should go and vote. Security would be provided for everyone."
