He also added that the polling concluded peacefully in Telangana on Thursday without any need for repolling.

Arrangements for vote counting had been in place at around 49 counters on December 3,2023. EVMs have already been shifted to the strong rooms and scrutiny procedures began on Friday. Around 40 central companies have been deployed on duties for providing security near the strong rooms.

Counting procedure would begin at 8 am on Sunday and the officials would start counting the votes in the EVMs from 8:30 am.

Meanwhile Congress party demanded repolling in some segments in the old city of Hyderabad. Telangana PCC senior vice president, G Niranjan wrote to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar seeking repolling.

“AMIM workers have indulged in rigging and bogus voting in Chandrayangutta, Charminar and Bahadurpura assembly constituencies. Congress party candidates and workers are attacked by the AMIM leaders and workers. A tense atmosphere was created and no other party agents except AMIM were allowed to enter into the polling stations. In the absence of other party agents, the bogus voting and rigging took place as per the wishes of AMIM. We request for setting aside the counting of votes in the above said constituencies till the completion of checking of web and CC cameras to find out how the rigging and bogus voting took place in these assembly constituencies. We also request for re-polling in these assembly constituencies,” said Niranjan.
