The wink by the Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his ‘chowkidar chor hai’ jibe on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi cost him elections, according to investor-trader Vijay Kedia.

“Rahul Gandhi made two blunders in the recent past. The first was when he hugged the PM in Parliament last year and winked, he sent out a very indecent kind of signal to voters. India’s 80 million voters are smart and young and they know what you are doing,” Kedia told business channel ET Now.
He also said that the campaign ‘chowkidar chor hai’ did not go down well with the people.
He attributed the mammoth win of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on the lack of alternatives. “Aur kaun hai (who else is there),” he said.
He, however, admitted that the government didn’t implement the demonetisation drive properly.
