The ardent fans of Salman Khan won't be able to catch a glimpse of their favourite star on the stormy reality show 'Bigg Boss 8' after January 4. No, the show is not wrapping up. Reportedly, Salman is not going to host it anymore.

The news may be shocking, but sources have revealed that the show which was going to wrap up on January 4, has apparently been extended for one more month.

As per Salman's contract, he had given dates for the show till January 4. Now, the actor, who is ruling the roost in the industry, is quite occupied with his undertakings and is unable to give dates for the show which has been extended.

As such, the 'Bigg Boss 8' producers are left with no other choice but to rope in a new host.

According to a source, who is a part of the 'Bigg Boss 8' team, it's choreographer turned director Farah Khan who is going to step into Salman's shoes and host the show.

“Salman can’t host the show after the first week of January due to his choc-a-bloc schedule. Hence, after a lot of negotiations, they finally roped in Farah as the host,” stated the source, as quoted in Bollywoodlife.com.

However, it's learnt that Farah Khan was not the first choice for replacing Salman. Earlier, the producers had approached Karan Johar and Anil Kapoor for the role of the host.
Apparently, both KJo and Anil Kapoor turned down the offer, following which Farah was zeroed in.

Salman Khan has been hosting 'Bigg Boss 8', the Indian version of the international reality television franchise 'Big Brother', for 3 years now. Salman's presence on the show has made it a big hit among the audience, who watch the show for their admiration for the hunk and his witty comments.

The 'Dabangg' actor also made headlines for his heated arguments with the contestants on the show, namely Karishma Tanna (Bigg Boss 8), Kushal Tandon (Bigg Boss 7), Imam Siddique and Sapna Bhavani (Bigg Boss 6).

Earlier, Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty, Amitabh Bachchan, and Sanjay Dutt too tried hosting the show, but failed to charm the audience .

Now, with Farah replacing Salman, let's see how the TRP fares!
