"Actors of today are made to do ridiculous steps. May be you can call them yoga asanas," Randhir said in his speech here at the South Asian Film Festival (SAFF), where he paid tributes to his uncle late Shammi Kapoor for his dancing style.

"He (Shammi) was not a great dancer but he had a great style which was loved by everyone," Randhir said after accepting felicitation at the festival on behalf of the Kapoor family for its contribution to the Indian cinema.

Randhir (64) said Shammi was his favourite uncle, who taught him important things in life. "Uncle was a great advisor in reel and real life," he said, adding whenever he feels sad, he watches Shammi's movies.

"He has romanced pretty heroines on-screen at best of the locations."

SAFF, which began here today, had Shakti Samanta- directed 'Kashmir Ki Kali', featuring Shammi and Sharmila Tagore, as its inaugural film.

The organisers said the film was screened as a mark of respect to the celebrated actor who changed the meaning of romance on the silver screen in Indian cinema since 1960s. He passed away last month.
