Actor Dhanush took to Twitter on Saturday (March 20) to reveal that the teaser of his upcoming movie Karnan will be unveiled on Tuesday (March 23). He shared a new poster, piquing the curiosity of the fans.
The actioner has been directed by Mari Selvaraj, who had previously wielded the microphone for the Pa Ranjith-backed movie Pariyerum Perumal, and revolves around the challenges faced by the protagonist when he fights for the rights of the common man. The film's music has been composed by Santosh Narayanan, the music director of the Rajinikanth movies Kabali and Kaala. Karnan's shoot was wrapped up last December even though it was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is slated to hit the screens on April 9.
Dhanush, meanwhile, is going through a busy phase on the work front. He will soon be seen in the Tamil gangster drama Jagame Thanthiram, slated to release directly on Netflix. The film has created a buzz among fans as it marks his first collaboration with Karthik Subbaraj, the director of popular films such as Jigarthanda and Petta. The film was supposed to be a theatrical release but that did not happen due to the pandemic.
He also has the Hindi movie Atrangi Re, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Coolie No 1 actor Sara Ali Khan, in his kitty. The romantic drama has been directed by Anand L Rai and is set to release in theatres later this year. 'D' began his Bollywood journey with the Zero helmer's 2013 release Raanjhanaa, which did well at the box office. His second release Shamitabh, however, did not do as well as expected as it had an unconventional storyline. It remains to be seen if he is able to bounce back with Atrangi Re.
Dhanush has also reunited with his brother filmmaker Selvaraghavan for Aayirathil Oruvan 2, slated to release in 2023.
